Chivas USA's Dan Kennedy, Ante Jazic Finalists for MLS Awards

DK and Jazic are in the running - Jerome Miron-US PRESSWIRE

A pair of Goats are up for the league's postseason awards.

Good news! In addition to The Goat Parade awards, two Chivas USA players were nominated as finalists for Major League Soccer's 2012 season awards. Goalkeeper Dan Kennedy is a finalist for Allstate Goalkeeper of the Year, alongside Michael Gspurning of the Seattle Sounders and Sporting Kansas City's Jimmy Nielsen.

In addition, defender Ante Jazic was named a finalist for the Xbox Fair Play award, along with Logan Pause of the Chicago Fire and former Chivas USA defender Heath Pearce. I suppose it is appropriate that a man who hails from hockey country, with a professional sports league that has the Lady Byng trophy, would be nominated for a good sportsman award, and it is a nice honor.

While I'd love to see both of them win, my inclination would be that Kennedy probably won't win, while the Fair Play award could literally go to any of the three nominees. Still, we will find out the winner of the Fair Play award on Monday, and the Goalkeeper award November 28.

Best of luck to both players!
