Lost in the shuffle of Saturday's game is another piece of news concerning the Chivas USA roster. Trialist Scott Gordon, a full back, was signed Friday by the club, which led to his being included in the matchday 18 for the game against the Vancouver Whitecaps, although he didn't see any playing time.
Gordon, 23, played collegiate soccer at Mercer University (Division I) and Lynn University (Division II). He was a third round pick in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas, but didn't make the team. A Florida native, Gordon went to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in NASL for the 2011 season, a team that has had several players make MLS rosters in 2012, including former Chivas USA player Gerson Mayen and Bryan Arguez, both of whom are now with the Montreal Impact. The Strikers went to the NASL championship last season, but fell to Minnesota for the title.
Welcome to the Goats, Scott!
