As a fan of a team with as many ups and downs as Chivas USA, it is often difficult to figure out the best moments of the team. Obviously when the club had considerable success, like during the playoff-bound years of 2006-2009, there was a great deal to be happy about and a great many highlights. But in the last few seasons, the lack of consistent highlights have been frustrating, to say the least.
That said, one of the best feelings to have is to see your team get a completely unexpected result. That happened last season, when Chivas beat the New York Red Bulls 3-2 at Red Bull Arena. Justin Braun, who had struggled to find a place in the lineup under Robin Fraser previously, took complete advantage of the start and scored all of Chivas' goals on the day. And all three goals were essential, as New York tied up the match twice, before Braun's third put Chivas in the lead in the 56th minute for good. What made the result even sweeter was that the Red Bulls were in first place at that point, and the talk surrounding them heading into the match was how they were finally going to win the Supporters Shield, and perhaps even MLS Cup in 2011. Instead, it can be argued that the loss was the beginning of the end for New York. Although they rebounded and got into the playoffs, they never looked like a dominant team again last year. Braunzilla came to New York (ok, Harrison, NJ) and wreaked havoc.

You'll notice as well that Braun showed some versatility on the hat trick, with a fantastic long-range bomb to beat Bouna Coundoul with the first, and two poacher's goals off free kicks for the second and third. A great night for Braun, and for Chivas USA.
