The USSDA expanded this year to include the U-14 age group, and Chivas USA has a team that is drawing interest, both because of their coaches and their players. Today, two of the players from the Goats' U-14 Academy squad, John Hilton and Carlos Anguiano, have received a call-up from U.S. U-14 Boys' National Team head coach Tony Lepore for a training camp to be held in Florida starting Saturday.
You may recall Hilton from the reports that circulated about him last August, following his training stint and successful performance with Manchester City's Academy in an international tournament. The full back is certainly on the radar of European teams, and with this latest call-up, he may garner more interest yet. He's also a youngster on the USBNT roster, as one of just three players to have been born in 2001.
Anguiano is a midfielder from LA, and is in the U.S. U-14s squad for the second consecutive time, alongside Hilton.
Though the group will have a couple of friendlies to play against local teams, they are not preparing for a tournament at this time.
Congrats to John and Carlos!
