Are Chivas making an addition to the roster?

Travis Clark of TopDrawerSoccer.com reported via Twitter on Wednesday that former USMNT U-17 midfielder Matt Dunn was joining MLS, then followed that up with Dunn joining Chivas USA, according to the player's Facebook page.

There has been no official word from either MLS or Chivas USA regarding Dunn, but this report looks pretty legit.

The 20-year-old was part of the U-17 residency program in Bradenton, Florida, when Cabrera was in charge. He also was a member of FC Cologne's academy in Germany when he was with the U.S. U-17s.

He played in all of the Americans' games at the 2011 U-17 World Cupthen signed a professional deal with Serbian side OFK Beograd in January 2012.

It seemed he didn't see much playing time, or the situation didn't work out, as he was reportedly on trial with the Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas in early 2013. He then enrolled in University of Maine at Fort Kent, a USCAA school, and played collegiately in 2013, where he had seven goals and 10 assists in 17 games.

So, he's bounced around quite a bit the past few years, but obviously Cabrera is familiar with him. I'd guess that if Chivas is adding him, it will be as a depth player, though I suppose you never know.

We'll update the story as we find out more.
