Dan Kennedy had a good day on Sunday. He broke the Chivas USA all-time appearances record, he helped the Goats tie the LA Galaxy 1-1 -- oh, and he made an outstanding pair of saves in the game. Fortunately, MLS agrees those saves were something special, and they've nominated DK for MLS Save of the Week for Week 14.
Although Kennedy has long been recognized as a good goalkeeper, this is the first time this season he's been nominated for MLS Save of the Week. Of course, his double stop on Landon Donovan and Marcelo Sarvas displayed his positioning, quickness and intelligence to make the necessary saves. It's really a bummer that the team couldn't manage to keep a clean sheet too, on such a special day for Kennedy.
Now, if you want Kennedy to actually win Save of the Week honors, you need to go vote. Do it here. Do it now, right now! Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursday. Keep in mind, there is both a Portland Timbers and a Seattle Sounders goalkeeper in the running as well this week, so DK needs every single vote we can manage.
