New England Revolution trades captain Shalrie Joseph to Chivas USA for midfielder Blair Gavin, second-round pick in 2013 MLS draft and allocation money. Joseph, 34, departs the Revolution after almost 10 years with the club.

The Guardian ran a feature today featuring recaps and previews for the eight teams remaining in the U.S. Open Cup. Chivas USA gets some attention, of course (full disclosure: I wrote that part). The article is particularly useful for the three lower division teams left in the tournament, including Chivas' upcoming opponent, the Charlotte Eagles.
